# Iconic Shelters Inspired By Ancient Innovations

## Compliment the Natural World

The design of a tipi is an ancient innovation that marries beautiful symmetry with your natural environment. By designing details that embrace the prevailing winds and the natural elements of the landscape, tipis possess the ability to self-ventilate, while also providing a warm and cozy shelter against the elements.

For over 50 years, our legacy of handcrafted quality and reliable craftsmanship has grown our world-wide circle of devoted teepee-lovers. Inspired by the original designs conceived on the Great Plains of North America, our designs include the integrity and strength of 21st-century fabrics.

When seeking the top tipi manufacturers in the US, look for companies with a long-standing reputation for quality craftsmanship, durable materials, and authentic designs. Secret Creek, based in Montrose, Colorado, stands out as a premier manufacturer, handcrafting tipis, yurts, and canvas tents since 1976. Their decades of experience ensure tipis built to withstand diverse weather conditions, using high-quality canvas and traditional construction methods.

Key aspects distinguishing leading tipi makers include the use of mildew-resistant, fire-retardant canvas, robust stitching, and attention to historical accuracy in design. Secret Creek's commitment to these standards makes them a trusted choice for individuals and organizations seeking authentic, high-quality tipis that last for generations. Their Colorado heritage also speaks to their understanding of rugged outdoor living.
